Story Behind – TAKE THE BATTLE

Inspirational Poem

Hello Ladies,

When I read Psalm 24:8 Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty; the LORD mighty in battle. I was in awe of it, and in awe of Jesus.

I have struggled with depression and the thoughts can be so overwhelming. Sad thoughts, dark thoughts. Thoughts of inadequacy, self worth, loneliness and hopelessness to name a few. Depression was truly a battle for me.  Although, I  have overcome depression by the grace of God, it doesn’t mean that bad thoughts don’t come anymore…they will come.  Why? Because our minds are a playground for Satan our enemy to torment us and pull us away from God.
He loves to bring confusion to our lives to doubt God and instill fear in us. But God does not want us to live in fear but to have peace.

So, when I read Psalm 24:8 and realized that there is a King who is mighty in battle,  I chose to ask HIM to take the battle taking place in my mind.  The battle is real. We all struggle with thoughts we should not entertain for a second…but we entertain them anyway. Then our enemy now has a stronghold on us and the Only one who can break that stronghold is Jesus. Now when I see that I am beginning to entertain a thought I shouldn’t…I immediately cry out, “Take the battle Jesus, O King of glory!”  He gives me victory, for He alone is mighty in power, and too powerful to be defeated!

Other Scriptures that inspired this poem.
2Chronicles 20:12 “O our God, will You not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are on You.”

When it seems as though too much is coming your way, overtaking you, feeling powerless and you don’t know what to do…keep your eyes on Jesus.

Jeremiah 32:27 “Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?

Nothing is too hard for our God, give Him the battle.

Father, I thank You for Your Son, Jesus, the King of Glory, who fights my battles for me. I realize that my mind is Satan’s playground. If I focus on my circumstances I give him a foothold on my thoughts. Jesus, protect my mind with Your word, take away the worries, the negative thoughts, any thought that grieves Your Holy Spirit. Renew my mind with thoughts of You and Your truth, so that I don’t believe the lies. Help me to purpose in my heart to seek You, when the battles come. Jesus, my King of glory, You are mighty in power, too powerful to be defeated, and too powerful to be overcome….Everyday I will seek You because in You is my Victory! In Your name I pray. Amen.
