Arise in Me was an answered prayer. My prayer one day was to be able to help and encourage someone take baby steps to heal from depression and anxiety, addiction, focusing on the past and going through difficult trials. Trials I had faced in my own life.
It is written in a very simple format to help you move forward. Why? Because I took into consideration what I needed when I went through the trials in my life. I wished I had found something as simple as this to help and guide me to Jesus! I personally went to many book stores to find something to help, if I could only read a book to help me. Well, when I got there and found some books, I ended up getting more overwhelmed because of the width of the book. I couldn’t get myself to read something so big because I was so down, in a place so dark, I felt so in adequate and felt that I was unable to comprehend something so big. I thought that my circumstances were so HUGE that I needed something really HUGE to happen in my life for it to change. Turns out, I did need something big to happen…only, it wasn’t a something, it was Someone! That someone was Jesus Christ.
This book is intended to help you focus on Jesus instead of your circumstances. Hence, the title, Arise in Me, I needed Jesus to be above all that I am. May my thoughts be more about You and less of me.
Take the time to read the scriptures and memorize them. Meditate on them all day. When the negative thoughts come, think about the Scriptures for the day. There will also be a different word each day to help you focus the Scriptures. Allow God to transform your thoughts and renew your mind. God will get you through your day when you are dependent on Him and not on yourselves.
From time to time I will be do a post from a day in the devotional, in order. My hope is that it will help you take the baby steps necessary to heal, and move forward to the future that God has planned for you. I will look forward to going through the devotional in hopes that it will help you overcome your trials.
We live and move and have our being in Jesus Christ. We exist because of Him. He alone died for you. He will manifest Himself in you when you seek Him with all your heart, soul, mind and strength!
