SALVATION

Salvation is the best thing that ever happened to me. I chose to surrender my life to Jesus Christ. Not only does Salvation determine where you spend eternity…but, it gives you a fresh start in life. Salvation saved me from myself. It saved me from trusting in myself to trusting in Jesus, the Savior of the world. I went from self, thinking I know what’s BETTER for me…to a Savior who knows what is BEST for me! Jesus became my hope when I didn’t have hope. It was His wisdom I needed and not my own. Salvation is the beginning of the healing process. Salvation is important to restoring your relationship with God! This restored relationship brings peace between you and God, and eventually you learn to have peace with others. Believe it, there is a God that loves you no matter what you have done in your life and He is willing to wipe all that away to give you a fresh start. It is an amazing transformation and a step of faith you will not regret. It is God restoring us back to Him. We were created to have a relationship with Him, however, through sin this relationship has been broken. Because of His unconditional love, He sent Jesus to die on the cross for our sin…Jesus died so that we could have life. 1 Peter 3:18 “For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.”

We need Salvation because we are sinful people . We sin when we rebel against God and willfully choose to disobey Him. This disobedience separates us from God and there is no peace within our souls. It took the blood of Jesus to reconcile us back to God, to bring us peace with Him. The wonderful thing about this is that we don’t have to work for our Salvation. It is a free gift of God. We don’t have to work for it. Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Why do I bring up Salvation? Because this is the first step to becoming a follower of Jesus Christ. This was the best decision I could have ever made. I was drowning in sin. I was so overwhelmed by the weight of it…honestly, I thought about suicide. I hated my life. It never seemed as though I could do anything right. Then came depression and anxiety. I wanted to die and then I was afraid of dying. Lost all hope. Felt so lonely. Outbursts of anger. Addiction. Dealing with the should’ve, could’ve and would’ve, the what if’s and the guilt. Focusing on the past so much I couldn’t see the future. Then I couldn’t take it anymore and I cried out to God. Didn’t know Him but knew of Him and I didn’t even know what I was praying for…I just didn’t want this miserable life anymore. Without going into detail, I would need more that just one page…He answered my prayers. And 20 years later I am still following my Savior and serving Him! Praise be to God Almighty!

Romans 10:9-10 That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with your heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Salvation comes through Jesus Christ because He paid our debt. He died for our sins. Took our punishment, so that we could have life.

Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for.”

Romans 6:23 “for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life with Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Isaiah 53:5 But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed.

Why give your heart to Jesus and become a child of God? His Word tells us:

Acts 4:12 “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.

John 1:12 “Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.

Don’t be afraid to surrender your life to Jesus…I was! I thought I am giving up so much (things of the world) what would take it’s place? Don’t be foolish and thing the way I did. You give up doing life your own way! When we do life our own way we miss up really bad…over and over and over again. Doing life my way meant chaos. The selfishness, pride, jealousy, bitterness, addiction and the list goes on. Now, as a new creation in Christ I do things God’s way! My life is full of forgiveness, joy, peace and an unconditional love from a God who loves me despite my faults, flaws, failures. Not only do we become His children but He dwells in us by the power of His Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit, is our Teacher, our Comforter. He manifests the power of God, His wisdom, His joy, His peace and His strength in us to continue in this life!

Take that step and surrender your life to Jesus. Give Him your heart to reign over it. Receive Him into your life and begin a new life the past is gone. Be willing to turn from your sins; believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins. You may pray like this….Dear Jesus, I admit to you that I am a sinner and I ask for your forgiveness. I surrender my life to you and I ask hat you come and live in my heart and be my Lord and Savior. I choose to follow you and to put my trust in you. Guide me and direct me, show me your ways that I may have eternal life with you. In Jesus name, Amen!
